Politics  | Political Wedgies and the Fine Art of Divide and Conquer

Don’t let wedge issues keep us from holding our politician responsible. We can talk about them just as soon as we’ve secured our economy.

Every morning I get up before dawn and search the internet for articles. I look for articles that attack both Democrats and Republicans. I’m an equal opportunity act.

More specifically … I look for articles that try to raise the level of attention on the economy. In particular I look for authors who are trying to hold politicians and unelected Government officials accountable.

I’m sorry to report … I’m not finding them.

Main stream media is too focused on hitting their niche markets to be bothered by mundane things like budget deficits, unemployment, economic policy, government corruption. Besides … you can’t get a politician worth their salt who’ll give you a comment on (or off the record) holding somebody responsible for anything.

Ever wonder why the “misdeed” most likely to kill a politician is sex? Even drugs generally won’t do it now days.

Heck … it takes finding frozen cash by the FBI to pin the tail on a donkey, never mind a dad gum elephant.

And … the politicians … our leaders … are quite happy with the situation. In fact they’re doing all they can to keep people focused on candy and wedgies.

The economy is the most important issue facing the country today and we’re not talking about it. Google abortion and Bam … bunch and bunches of articles. Google federal deficit and it’s slim pickings.

Google the SEC enforcement and gee … is that the South Eastern Conference you’re talking about? Football referees?

As long as politicians and the media can keep the American peoples’ attention on what divides them and not on what unites them, the status quo will be maintained.

Hey … hey … ho ... ho ... the status quo has got to go.

Isn’t it interesting that it took a socialist to bring a bill for breaking up too big to fail banks?

Gee … maybe Sanders and I have more in common that I thought. Maybe you do, too.

And … as foolish as it may turn out to be … If you have something to say about the economic mess we’re in … I don’t care who you sleep with, where you go to church nor whether you like snail darts or not, please raise your voice. Here … in the grocery store … wherever you find the opportunity.

Don’t let wedge issues keep us from holding our politician responsible. We can talk about wedgies just as soon as we’ve secured our economy.

It is going to be very hard to do what we're supposed to do, leave our kids better off.
