FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas' record-breaking quarterback Ryan Mallett is featured in today's USA Today, hyping the upcoming season of Razorback football. Reporter Glenn Guilbeau wrote of the arm strength that has preceded all talk about Mallett this preseason. The UA signal caller is listed by numerous publications and media outlets as one of the top quarterbacks to watch in the 2010 season for postseason honors.
Mallett, a junior hailing from Texarkana, Ark., rewrote the Razorback record books in his first season as a starter in the SEC. He set or tied 16 school marks en route to leading UA to an 8-5 record and a victory in the 2010 Autozone Liberty Bowl. Mallett was named the MVP of the game with a two touchdown pass performance. Mallett finished first in the conference in touchdown passes (30), passing yards per game (278.8) and total offense per game (276.5).
Head coach Bobby Petrino, along with standout UA tight end D.J. Williams speak of Mallett's playmaking ability in the article. Fans can access the article on the web by clicking here.
